In a joint effort with the United States Army Corp of Engineers (USACE), Bergeron Land Development applied its expertise in marine construction and excavation to widen the Wares Creek Channel in Bradenton, Florida.

This canal is the major drainage conveyance for NW Sarasota and SW Manatee County draining an area, encompassing a 30-mile radius into the Manatee River.

This environmental project consisted of excavating 35,000+ bank cubic yards of fill, widening the channel from 20 to 26 feet, lining both the east and west banks with granite rip-rap to protect the area from erosion and stabilizing the conveyance of rain water from the surrounding area.
